Stick ski straps on your skis and climb through the poetic, snowy landscape. On cross-country skis, it would be a lot of work, but on snowshoes it would be a shame not to take advantage of the slope that is heading down. However, on ski straps you don't have to rush, you just have to move your skis step by step and enjoy. Choose from these routes:
Alpine ski route five – through Modrý dol to Výrovec
From Pec pod Sněžkou, follow the red trail to the ascent to Modrý dol and follow the winter pole path through Modrý dol to Výrovec (you are passing through a massive avalanche path, so be careful, and especially at the end you may have problems with orientation due to blown poles). Then continue on the green trail through Richtrovy Boudy and enjoy a beautiful descent all the way down to Pec pod Sněžkou. (You can also choose the option where you turn to the red trail at the U Richtrovy bud crossroads and continue to Zelený dol or follow the red trail to Železná stezka.)
Alpine ski route number six – Through the Giant Valley to Sněžka
From Pec pod Sněžkou you take the blue route to Obří důl and climb to the saddle under the former Obří bouda, be careful, this is a steep and often icy section!!! You follow the red route over the top of Sněžka, here you will again encounter a steep and often icy section!!! Please be careful of other visitors and if you go in the opposite direction, take off your skis and walk. You proceed down the yellow route to the upper station of the cable car on Růžová hora (often blown out and icy terrain), then through the gap under the cable car, this is a steep and often icy section (and in addition, there are 2 steel cables running lengthwise throughout the entire section), continue to the lower station of the cable car.
When descending: continue along the yellow or blue path and to Pec pod Sněžkou, or through the meadows of the Větrník and Karlův vrch enclaves and along the unmarked path you can continue to Velká Úpa. Another option is a safe option via Růžohorky (green and yellow mark - upper station of the Bobolift and along the slope down to Velká Úpa). When ascending from Pec pod Sněžkou, you can also use the green mark through the Bukový údolíem, but we do not recommend it for the descent (steep and often very icy terrain).
