How to get to the top of our highest mountain from the Grand Hotel Hradec, where did the mountain porters walk, and what are the other hiking options?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Summer hikes to Sn\u011b\u017eka<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Discover the highest peak of Sn\u011b\u017eka even in summer. If you decide to climb Sn\u011b\u017eka, you can go in different directions. From Pec pod Sn\u011b\u017ekou via R\u016f\u017eohorky, from Velk\u00e1 \u00dapa or Horn\u00ed Mal\u00e1 \u00dapa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is up to you whether you will walk the entire hike or use the cable car for part of the journey. The routes can be as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1.\u00a0Through Ob\u0159\u00ed d\u016fl 7,5 km<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border:none\" src=\"https:\/\/frame.mapy.cz\/s\/ravamujaze\" width=\"100%\" height=\"400\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Through R\u016f\u017eohorky 6.5 km<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border:none\" src=\"https:\/\/frame.mapy.cz\/s\/hanupetale\" width=\"100%\" height=\"400\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. From Velk\u00e1 \u00dapa via the mountain porter route 6.7 km<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border:none\" src=\"https:\/\/frame.mapy.cz\/s\/koramuroso\" width=\"100%\" height=\"400\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>You can get to Velk\u00e1 \u00dapa by regular bus (timetables available at the reception) or you can use the taxi service (603 493 222). What was it like to be a mountain porter? Could you do it too? Come and try it! On the Mountain Porters' Trail, you can climb the restored original route, along which porters carried loads to Sn\u011b\u017eka for a hundred years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The path is equipped with information panels, rest areas including raised supports for placing backpacks on the backs of porters. There are three routes to choose from, each starting at the Horsk\u00e9 nosi\u010d\u016f pub, which is located at the lower station of the Port\u00e1\u0161ky cable car in Velk\u00e1 \u00dapa. Here you can rent wooden backpacks, attach your backpacks or cargo to them and climb the almost seven-kilometer route to the top of Sn\u011b\u017eka. You will receive a route map and all the information for the climb itself. The entire route is marked, there are period rest areas with a description of the history of this craft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Choose one of three routes<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"translation-block\"><strong>Route A<\/strong>: Ascent to Port\u00e1\u0161ky (1,060 m), then towards Bouda Jana and Chata Bor\u016fvka. On the way down to the valley, you can look around from the old period lookout point at the entire Velk\u00e1 \u00dapa valley, where route A ends.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\"><strong>Route B<\/strong>: On a marked path through Port\u00e1\u0161ky to R\u016f\u017eov\u00e1 hora (1,354 m), there is a collection of witches at Boud\u016f R\u016f\u017eohorky, a nearby mountain farm offers home-made specialties.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\"><strong>Route C<\/strong>: From route B, continue on foot from R\u016f\u017eov\u00e1 hora to the peak of Sn\u011b\u017eka (1,603 m), to the destination of the mountain porter route.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. From Pomezn\u00e9 boudy via Svorov\u00e1 hora 6.6 km<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border:none\" src=\"https:\/\/frame.mapy.cz\/s\/bebajehutu\" width=\"100%\" height=\"400\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>You can get to Pomezn\u00ed boudy by bus (timetables available at the reception) or you can use a taxi service (603 493 222).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What should you pack in your backpack besides a change of clothes? Don't forget something to keep you energized, drinks, hiking poles, sunscreen, a phone with the mountain rescue service's contact number saved (+420 1210) and your documents. For information about warnings issued by the Mountain Rescue Service in the Krkono\u0161e Mountains, please contact our reception.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5.\u00a0Through Ob\u0159\u00ed d\u016fl to Ob\u0159\u00ed sedlo\u00a07,5 km<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border:none\" src=\"https:\/\/frame.mapy.cz\/s\/huzetemece\" width=\"100%\" height=\"400\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Of all the paths that you can take to reach Sn\u011b\u017eka on foot, this is perhaps the most <strong>passable and pleasant<\/strong>. From the center of Pec, you head to the cable car and from there along the blue Ob\u0159\u00ed dol. After about 30 minutes of walking through a picturesque valley on an asphalt road with a moderate slope (except for the initial hill), you will reach a chapel. Here you can learn about the disaster that took place here in 1897. And then the climb begins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The average tourist will reach Ob\u0159\u00ed sedlo in an hour, maybe a little longer, while enjoying the view of the Ob\u0159\u00ed d\u016fl from which they come, remembering the Kov\u00e1rna mine and, on warmer days, refreshing themselves by the stream. From the wooden footbridge that leads over it, you can calm down and say that the hardest part is behind you. If you want to enjoy the view in all directions from Sn\u011b\u017eka, you will have another 20-30 minutes of climbing on our side, or a slightly longer climb on the Polish side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We did not choose this route by chance. In 2013, the Giant Mine was ranked among the 7 Wonders of the Krkono\u0161e Mountains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">6. From Ob\u0159\u00ed sedlo to V\u00fdrovka 5.0 km<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border:none\" src=\"https:\/\/frame.mapy.cz\/s\/golosuhadu\" width=\"100%\" height=\"400\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>A wonderful path that almost every Czech must take at least once in their life. From Ob\u0159\u00ed sedlo, take the blue path towards Lu\u010dn\u00ed bouda. You will walk along the paths through \u00dapsk\u00e1 ra\u0161elina and breathe in the true Krkono\u0161e atmosphere. At the renowned Lu\u010dn\u00ed bouda, you can then have something good to eat and continue on - up to the Memorial to the Victims of the Mountains, where you will swing over the ridge and descend to V\u00fdrovec, while admiring the view to the left of Pec.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">7. From V\u00fdrovka back to Pec via Richtrovy boudy 5.6 km<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border:none\" src=\"https:\/\/frame.mapy.cz\/s\/lugadecefa\" width=\"100%\" height=\"400\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">8. From Pec pod Sn\u011b\u017ekou via Modr\u00fd d\u016fl and Richtrovy bouda back to Pec pod Sn\u011b\u017ekou 9.5 km<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border:none\" src=\"https:\/\/frame.mapy.cz\/s\/malofanaza\" width=\"100%\" height=\"400\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>There are two ways to reach Modr\u00fd d\u016fl. From our hotel, you set off towards Ob\u0159\u00ed d\u016fl and immediately after the U kapli\u010dky parking lot and the dam in Bukov\u00e9 \u00fadol\u00ed, turn left along the red tourist trail to Mil\u00ed\u0159e and continue to Modr\u00fd d\u016fl. The asphalt road rises sharply here, but at the end you will find a beautiful mountain valley with several original cottages, which are registered as a protected ensemble of original mountain architecture. The second option is to continue along the blue tourist trail to Ob\u0159\u00ed d\u016fl. After Bouda v Ob\u0159\u00ed d\u016fl, at the crossroads, take the yellow trail across the bridge towards Modr\u00fd d\u016fl (about 1.5 km). It is a magical, quiet place under the Lu\u010dn\u00ed and Studni\u010dn\u00ed hora massifs. Continue to the signpost (which you could also reach from the turnoff at the dam) and continue up along the red \"\u017delezn\u00e1 stezka\". As you climb, you will be treated to a beautiful view of Modr\u00fd d\u016fl, Studni\u010dn\u00ed hora and Sn\u011b\u017eka. From Richtrov\u00e9 bude you will follow the green tourist trail down to Pec pod Sn\u011b\u017ekou. If you want to avoid descending on the asphalt road, turn onto the red trail. It will be a very steep descent, but then you will be rewarded with a walk through the beautiful valley of the Zelen\u00fd potok.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">8. From Pec pod Sn\u011b\u017ekou via \u0160raml and Velk\u00e1 \u00dapa back to Pec pod Sn\u011b\u017ekou 9.5 km<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border:none\" src=\"https:\/\/frame.mapy.cz\/s\/felojeruvu\" width=\"100%\" height=\"400\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>The route starts in Pec pod Sn\u011b\u017ekou at the crossroads. After the M\u00e1j hotel, you will head up the southern slope past the Irena guesthouse and continue along the path (be careful, it has no tourist sign!) up through the forest to the signpost known as \"\u0160raml\". There is a rest area here and on the information board you will find information about the history of the place. From \u0160raml, you will follow the yellow path down and after less than a kilometer, turn left onto the road to the Pomn\u011bnka cottage in Zadn\u00ed V\u00fdslun\u00ed. Here, the entire beautiful Velk\u00e1 \u00dapa valley will open up before you, with the cable car to Port\u00e1\u0161ky in the middle. You will continue down to Velk\u00e1 \u00dapa along the road, which has no tourist signposts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The blue trail will take you back to Pec pod Sn\u011b\u017ekou \u2013 the so-called upper path between \u00dapa and Pec. The famous \u00dapa trout hatchery is worth a visit. The blue trail leads along the iron bridge over the \u00dapa River and then continues right uphill past the Marienka guesthouse. From \u00dapa to Pec it is only 3 km.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">9. From Pec pod Sn\u011b\u017ekou via Richtrovy boudy, V\u00fdrovka, Kapli\u010dka, Lu\u010dn\u00ed boudy and Silesian house back to Pec pod Sn\u011b\u017ekou 17.4 km<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border:none\" src=\"https:\/\/frame.mapy.cz\/s\/corefaboho\" width=\"100%\" height=\"400\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>The route starts at our Grand Hotel Hradec and leads past the Horizont Hotel, from there through Velk\u00e1 Pl\u00e1\u0148 to the D\u011bv\u00edn Hotel. From there, continue through the forest through Richtrovy Boudy to V\u00fdrovka. At V\u00fdrovka, turn right and walk through Kapli\u010dka to Lu\u010dn\u00ed Bouda. At Lu\u010dn\u00ed Bouda, turn right again and continue towards Sn\u011b\u017eka along the Schustlerova path. When you reach the Silesian House, you have a choice. Either climb Sn\u011b\u017eka and take the cable car down from there (more fit individuals can walk through R\u016f\u017eohorky all the way down to the hotel) or turn off at the Silesian House into Ob\u0159\u00ed d\u016fl and walk along it to the hotel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">10. From Pec pod Sn\u011b\u017ekou \u2013 Old road to Velk\u00e1 \u00dapa \u2013 Velk\u00e1 \u00dapa Children's Playground 3.1 km \u2013 for children<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border:none\" src=\"https:\/\/frame.mapy.cz\/s\/kugatudaso\" width=\"100%\" height=\"400\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>Since July 2014, there has been a new, unique walking trail for children and adults in Pec pod Sn\u011b\u017ekou \u2013 the Walk to Krakono\u0161\u2019 Confessional. Krakono\u0161\u2019 Confessional is located in a former chapel on the Old Road connecting the center of Velk\u00e1 \u00dapa and the center of Pec pod Sn\u011b\u017ekou. The confessional contains all of children\u2019s secret wishes and petty sins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To keep the children entertained on their journey, 8 play stops were made and placed along the Old Road and in the center of Velk\u00e1 \u00dapa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Stop at the ALENA Guesthouse \u2013 Trivial Pursuit<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stopping at the U Pa\u0161\u00e1ka guesthouse \u2013 for small hikes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stopping at the stream \u2013 frog maze<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stopping at the forest \u2013 puzzle \u2013 key insertion<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stopping Krakono\u0161's confessional in the chapel<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stop at the bridge in Velk\u00e1 \u00dapa \u2013 sports competition<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stop under the Port\u00e1\u0161ky cable car \u2013 naval battle<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stop at the children's playground in Velk\u00e1 \u00dapa \u2013 Puzzle<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The individual stops are separated by an average of 200 meters. If you are looking for an ideal walk with a stroller, balance bike or bicycle for children, head to the Krakono\u0161 Confessional!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">11. Around Pec \u2013 Vesel\u00fd v\u00fdlet Infocenter \u2013 Hotel Horizont \u2013 Velk\u00e1 pl\u00e1\u0148 \u2013 Chaloupky \u2013 Mal\u00e1 pl\u00e1\u0148 \u2013 Zelen\u00fd potok \u2013 Kamor Cottage \u2013 Vl\u010d\u00ed potok \u2013 Lower station of the cable car to Javor 5.0 km<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border:none\" src=\"https:\/\/frame.mapy.cz\/s\/motalejagu\" width=\"100%\" height=\"400\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>The route starts in the center of Pec pod Sn\u011b\u017ekou in front of the Vesel\u00fd V\u00fdlet information center. From there, go uphill along the asphalt road leading to Vesel\u00fd V\u00fdlet and at the crossroads go towards Hotel Horizont. In front of the hotel you will see wooden signs \u201cAround Pec\u201d, which will guide you along the path above the 1st Krkono\u0161e bobsleigh track. Continue along the signs above Velk\u00e1 Pl\u00e1n\u00ed and then further along the asphalt road towards V\u00fdrovka until you come across another sign. Follow the forest path towards Chaloupky and then downhill to Sloupov\u00e1 kapli\u010dka. The path continues to Mal\u00e1 pl\u00e1n\u00ed and from there to Zelen\u00fd potok. Cross Zelen\u00fd potok over the wooden bridge and climb uphill to the Kamor chalet and then continue towards the Hn\u011bd\u00fd vrch ski slope until you come to a crossroads, from which you take the asphalt road back to the city center. The route ends at the turntable at the bottom station of the Javor lift.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The most popular place is to sit by the column chapel with a statue of a pilgrim near the Chaloupky meadow enclave, while the most peaceful is the viewpoint at Kamor before the Hn\u011bd\u00fd vrch meadow enclave with the restored chapel of St. Barbara.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The circuit or parts of it are also suitable for shorter walks for seniors, there is an opportunity to rest on benches along the way. However, if you still don't feel like going home at the end of the walk, you can extend the circuit by connecting to the Vl\u010d\u00ed j\u00e1ma and Zelen\u00fd d\u016fl routes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">12. Parking lot Zelen\u00fd potok - Zelen\u00fd d\u016fl - Jelen\u00ed Louky - Chaloupky - Velk\u00e1 pl\u00e1\u0148 - center of Pec pod Sn\u011b\u017ekou 5.6 km, you can extend the circuit by connecting to the Vl\u010d\u00ed j\u00e1ma and Zelen\u00fd d\u016fl routes.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border:none\" src=\"https:\/\/frame.mapy.cz\/s\/cedorosasu\" width=\"100%\" height=\"400\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>At the Zelen\u00fd potok parking lot, a signposted walking trail begins through the valley around Zelen\u00fd potok with several small waterfalls and cascades. The path leads along a forest path. After two and a half kilometers, the valley widens because a high-altitude glacier carved out a wide glacial trough tens of thousands of years ago. In the 16th century, the meadow enclave of Jelen\u00ed louky was founded here, and you can still enjoy refreshments in the inn of the same name, with a tradition dating back to 1731.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To return to Pec pod Sn\u011b\u017ekou, it is a good idea to use the asphalt road. It is also marked from Velk\u00e1 pl\u00e1n\u011b and through Chaloupky along the red tourist trail, and because it has a pleasant gentle slope, it has become especially popular with parents with children and strollers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">13. From \u010cern\u00e1 Hora to Pec 5.6 km<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border:none\" src=\"https:\/\/frame.mapy.cz\/s\/kanafomeka\" width=\"100%\" height=\"400\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>This is such a beautiful place to relax that everyone will enjoy it. The route is also popular with families with children. All you have to do is get from Pec to Jansk\u00e9 L\u00e1zn\u011b (for example by bus), take the cable car there, get taken to \u010cern\u00e1 hora and from the top follow the red trail around \u010cern\u00e1 hora peat bog (which you can visit, just a short distance). You will then reach Lu\u010diny via Kol\u00ednsk\u00e1 and Pra\u017esk\u00e1 bouda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here we recommend walking past Husova bouda, from where you will have a divine view of the entire Pec ski area and Sn\u011b\u017eka in the distance. You won't be able to get these panoramas out of your head easily. From Husovka, follow the blue trail down the asphalt road and a short distance through the forest to Pec, below the Javor ski slope. Then it's just a short walk to the center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">14. From V\u00e1clav\u00e1k via Val\u0161ovky to Velk\u00e1 \u00dapa 5.9 km<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border:none\" src=\"https:\/\/frame.mapy.cz\/s\/bemuhevufa\" width=\"100%\" height=\"400\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>No, we haven't gone crazy. You can actually find Wenceslas Square in the Krkono\u0161e Mountains \u2013 that's the name of the crossroads near the \u010cernohorsk\u00e1 ra\u0161eliny on the road from \u010cern\u00e1 hora to Pec, which we've already mentioned. By the way, you can get here from Pec, for example, by following the yellow trail via Javorka and Vebrovy Boudy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A beautiful wooden walkway leads from Wenceslas Square to the peat bog itself, but you can turn off and follow the yellow path towards Vla\u0161sk\u00e9 boudy, also known as Val\u0161ovky. On the way, don't miss the view from Hubert's Lookout, it's a blast!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You will reach Val\u0161ovky after about 3 kilometers and you will recognize the place immediately - the valley will open up before you and the atmosphere will be perfected by a few cottages on the slopes and a small, only a few years old chapel, where you can light a candle and ring the bell. Nearby there is also a place to sit in the shade of trees, which will be especially welcome on hot summer days. When you have enjoyed yourself, continue on the yellow towards Velk\u00e1 \u00dapa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you don't want to climb the challenging forest path straight to Velk\u00e1 \u00dapa, keep going on the asphalt road and at the fork keep left, following the contour line, so as not to go down to Vav\u0159incov d\u016fl, which would be a real pain. If everything goes according to plan, you will reach Javo\u0159\u00ed ml\u00fdn. From there it is about a half-hour walk to Pec.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">15. From R\u016f\u017eov\u00e1 hora via Velk\u00e1 \u00dapa to Pec 6.5 km<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border:none\" src=\"https:\/\/frame.mapy.cz\/s\/jogozehuvu\" width=\"100%\" height=\"400\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>For the less fit, there is also a route from R\u016f\u017eov\u00e1 hora to Pec. It can be shortened several times, it is still downhill or on the flat. Just take the cable car from Pec to the intermediate station on R\u016f\u017eov\u00e1 hora and from there take the asphalt road down the yellow sign towards R\u016f\u017eohorky. You would leave at this cottage if you wanted to do the entire hike on foot. From Pec it is 3 solid kilometers of nice climb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From R\u016f\u017eohorky, from where there is a nice view of the Pec ski area and \u010cern\u00e1 hora and the nearby surroundings of Sn\u011b\u017eka, continue along the yellow path towards Port\u00e1\u0161ky. Along the way, you will come to a crossroads where you can shorten the entire route. Another option for shortening is to take the cable car from Port\u00e1\u0161ky down to Velk\u00e1 \u00dapa or follow the slope under the cable car until you reach the asphalt road (then turn right after it).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But if you want to take a proper walk, go from Port\u00e1\u0161ky to Janovy Boudy and from there either follow the contour line directly to Pec (at an inconspicuous crossroads at the entrance to the forest on the right), or go down the steep hill to Velk\u00e1 \u00dapa (on the left). Here you will enjoy the view of the valley in which Velk\u00e1 \u00dapa is located, and it is really worth it. From \u00dapa, follow the blue path to Javo\u0159\u00ed ml\u00fdn and to Pec along the so-called old road, which is also nice in itself and most importantly you do not have to walk on the sidewalk right next to the road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hiking tours from Sn\u011b\u017eka\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">16.
